No. 1 recruit in Kentucky, Shaun Boykins, commits to Louisville over rival Wildcats
North Hardin star gives Jeff Brohm's Louisville offense another talented wide receiver
Shaun Boykins, Kentucky’s top-ranked 2024 recruit according to 247Sports, announced his commitment to Jeff Brohm’s Louisville Cardinals Wednesday afternoon.
The 6’1, 190 pound North Hardin standout receiver, chose Louisville over Kentucky and West Virginia.
“I think his (Brohm’s) offense would fit me,” Boykins recently told Cardinal Confidential. “I know he sends wide receivers to the NFL.”
Boykins, who runs a sub 4.5 forty, caught 56 passes for 897 yards and 10 touchdowns. He made a visit to Louisville last Friday for the Spring Game that seemed to seal the deal for Brohm’s Cards.
“They tell me how much they love my game, look forward to seeing me play this upcoming season and that they want to see me in red!,” said Boykins. “After the game Coach Garrick McGee was telling me that the staff loves how big, fast, and shifty I am.”
Following Boykins visit to Louisville late last week, Kentucky recruiting coordinator and tight end coach Vince Morrow was supposed to visit Boykins at his school on Monday, but eventually cancelled those plans, North Hardin coach Brent Thompson told Cardinal Confidential.
