Louisville makes strong impression on DE Darius Wiley, Kentucky's No. 2 ranked prospect
Will North Hardin standout follow top-ranked teammate Shaun Boykins to Louisville?
Louisville just received a commitment from Kentucky’s No. 1 rated recruit, Shaun Boykins, and his North Hardin teammate, Darius Wiley, who is ranked the No. 2 prospect in the Bluegrass, tells Cardinal Confidential he’s seriously eyeing the Cardinals too.
Now fully recovered from an injury that slowed him down last year, the rangy and athletic 6’6, 235 pound Wiley, who plays defensive end and tight end, is drawing serious recruiting attention this spring from Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Akron, Duke, Cincinnati, Marshall and Michigan.
“He’s 6’6 first, and you can’t teach that length,” North Hardin coach Brent Thompson told Cardinal Confidential. “Without doubt he’ll be a power five kid. College coaches see a 6’6 kid who can move and has good athleticism. His motor on defense is constantly running, even if the offense runs the ball away from him they still have to block him because he’ll chase the play.”
Wiley, rated the 2nd best recruit in Kentucky by 247Composite, recently made a visit to Louisville with Boykins for the Cardinals Spring Game and detailed that visit, providing his thoughts to Cardinal Confidential about the possibility of joining his teammate at UofL.
