Jeff Brohm taps transfer portal to turn Louisville offensive line from major question to position of strength

After watching his make-shift offensive line struggle throughout spring practice, Jeff Brohm knew he had to upgrade the offensive front for any shot at real success his first season at Louisville.

That meant a heavy emphasis on the transfer portal following Louisville’s spring game, which saw the Cardinals defense shred Brohm’s offensive line for 16.0  tackles for loss.

Following an 8-5 season that included a bowl win over Cincinnati, Louisville lost three veteran starters in Adonis Boone, Caleb Chandler and Trevor Reid. Luke Kandra, a key reserve expected to start at guard this season, followed Scott Satterfield to Cincinnati in the offseason.

That made Louisville’s offensive front ‘young and green,’ according to Brohm, this spring and it showed in the Red-White game in late April.
